Buy Item

A buy item is a child item that represents a specific way you purchase a product from a vendor. In Peasy, buy items define the vendor, unit, cost, and pack size for purchasing.

How It Works in Peasy

  • Buy items are created under a parent item and linked to a specific vendor
  • Each buy item has a buying unit (e.g., "case of 12") and a cost per unit
  • A parent item can have multiple buy items — different vendors or different pack sizes
  • Buy items appear when building purchase orders and in the buy cart
  • The unit conversion on the buy item maps the buying unit to the parent's inventory unit

Why It Matters

Buy items let you model real-world purchasing complexity. You might buy the same flour from two different vendors at different prices, or in different pack sizes. Each scenario is a separate buy item under the same parent, keeping your purchasing options organized.
