Lead Time
Lead time is the number of days between placing a purchase order and receiving the goods. In Peasy, lead time helps you plan when to reorder so items arrive before you run out.
How It Works in Peasy
- Lead time is set per vendor (in the vendor's detail page)
- It's used to calculate suggested reorder dates based on current stock and consumption
- When creating a PO, Peasy can suggest an ETA based on the vendor's typical lead time
- Longer lead times mean you need to reorder earlier (higher min levels)
- Lead time data improves over time as you track actual receiving dates
Why It Matters
Understanding lead time is critical for avoiding stockouts. If a vendor takes two weeks to deliver but you wait until you're almost out to reorder, you'll have a gap. Lead time data lets you set smarter min levels and reorder at the right moment.
