Category
A category is a label used to group and organize items. In Peasy, categories help you filter, search, and report on items by product type, department, or any grouping that makes sense for your business.
How It Works in Peasy
- Manage categories from Configure > Categories
- Assign a category to an item when creating or editing it
- Filter item lists, inventory reports, and purchase orders by category
- Categories are optional but recommended for businesses with many items
- Each item can belong to one category
Why It Matters
Categories bring order to large item lists. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of items, you can filter to just "Produce" or "Packaging" and work with a focused set. Categories also make reporting more meaningful — see inventory value or sales by product group.
